Round 42--Found Letters --Group A (8.07) 
It was basically too darn hot to go out and shoot signage. It's been on average 102 degrees in the South over the past 2 weeks. So here go my found letters. W: from the masthead of Dwell magazine/C: cola in Coca-Cola-my favorite beverage/B: sign in the office/X: roman numeral clock in the office/O: typography on a shoe box from Ocean Pacific. I liked the colors and patterns/K: from an old license plate from the Atlanta Centennial Olympics. Travis N. The last time is was in NYC i decided to shoot subway signs in times square. so many trains cross this section of the city. after i put the letters together (ok, i cheated and used numbers too) digitally, i wanted to make the card more relevant to NYC, so i decided to print them on the new york times. i didn't want to chance gluing them together since the newsprint seemed so fragile, so i sewed them to a card on which i used my rubber stamps to initial NY and printed an ode to the city: Take part in the veins of New York A maze of tunnels and platforms pulsing with platelets called people Moving in mass along its murky corridors Sounds of screeching brakes and voices of the millions Then in a lone corridor, the sound of one distant drum Patricia Sahertian | Phoenix, Arizona Freelance motion artist and documentary filmmaker. I didn't find a lot of letters that I loved. Ultimately I was too picky about what I photographed and didn't end up with a lot to choose from so I just tried to get the letters to work together in a composition on the card.
